Karsuki Locusts Not So Sweet

Karsuki Krunchies has issued a health warning today after fears that a recent batch of their famous Karsuki locusts, the popular snack made sweet by native fungal parasites, may have been contaminated.

Guests of the Queen of Treima celebrating the anniversary of her coronation day fell suddenly and violently ill. It is understood that a shipment of Karsuki locusts had been especially ordered as finger food at the buffet for the day’s entertainments. In a press statement Triema’s first minister said: “The Queen is unharmed and did not partake of the locusts. Our security forces are currently investigating the possibility that this was an attempt on the Queen's life through introduction of a toxic substance.”

Karsuki Krunchies officials have responded to accusations from the monarch’s first minister that the batch was in fact deliberately tampered with: “This is all just a misunderstanding. Our quality control and food standard safety procedures are being examined. We are taking every effort to get to the bottom of this and ensure it never happens again.”
